The efforts of several Law Enforcement Agencies in the Lakes Region results in the capture of a fugitive on several charges.
The incident occurred in September according to court documents filed this past week by the Boone County Sheriff's Office. A Boone County Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that started the high speed pursuit that went north on Highway 65 into Missouri and eventually into Hollister, with Hollister Police joining the chase for a time. The car eventually went back into Arkansas where it passed an Omaha School Bus dropping students off after school. Due to safety concerns, officers eventually ended the pursuit.
Five days later, a Branson Police investigator contacted Boone County officials to inform them that the vehicle, a Chevy Malibu that had been stolen in Branson, had been found in Springfield. In addition, another vehicle had been stolen and another high speed pursuit had resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Corvin Arvil Lee of Branson. Lee was taken to the Taney County Jail and eventually admitted to being the driver in the pursuit in Arkansas.
Lee was released by Taney County Officials and now is in the Boone County Dentition Center facing nine charges in the September pursuit. Lee's next scheduled court date is December 17.
