Arkansas State House and Senate Districts Approved

The Arkansas Board of Apportionment unanimously approved the new district lines for the state’s 100 House and 35 Senate seats during a meeting Monday in Little Rock.

The Board, comprising of Governor Asa Hutchinson, Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, and Secretary of State John Thurston, approved the final design based on Census Data in conjunction with proposals from State Legislators.

The approved boundaries will have area counties in the following districts

Boone: House District 5 (Harrison, Valley Springs, Bergman), District 6 (Omaha, Lead Hill, Diamond City)
Senate District 23 (Diamond City, Bergman, Valley Springs), District 28 (Harrison, Omaha, Alpena)
Carroll: House District 6 (Berryville, Eureka Springs), District 26 (Carrolton) Note: Green Forest is split between the two Districts.
Senate District 28
Madison: House District 26
Senate District 28
Marion: House District 4
Senate District 23
Newton: House District 27
Senate District 24 (Hasty, Marble Falls, Western Grove), District 28 (Jasper, Mount Judea, Deer)
Searcy: House District 27
Senate District 24

The new boundaries, barring any legal challenges which can be filed in the next 30 days, will go into effect with the 2023 Legislative Session.
