A Searcy County man will go before a judge in January accused of murdering his wife during the summer.

Updated court documents indicate 75-year0old Jeffrey David Stansbery of St. Joe will go before a Searcy County Circuit Court Judge on January 13 to be arraigned in the death of his wife Amanda Stansbery.

In September of this year, Stansbery went to Cox Medical Center in Branson to seek medical treatment when he told medical personnel that he may have harmed someone at his home in Arkansas. Cox officials called the Searcy County Sheriff's Office who in turned contacted the Branson Police Department and asked them to interview Stansbery. Information from the interview led officers from Searcy County and the Arkansas State Police to Stansbery's residence where eventually the dismembered body of Amanda Stansbery was discovered in a vehicle on the property.

Stansbery was arrested after being discharged from Cox Medical Center Branson and after having been initially detained in the Taney County Jail, he is now being held without bond in the Searcy County Jail awaiting his court date.
