HARRISON, Ark. (Nov. XX, 2024) – The Arvest Foundation recently announced a $4,000 donation to the Ozark Humane Society.

The grant will help complete the renovation of the puppy and kitten quarantine rooms at the Ozark Humane Society Shelter, as well as provide maintenance and rain flow management on all shelter buildings and the removal and replacement of the dog play yard.

Arvest associates joined Scott Tennyson, community bank president for Arvest Bank – North Arkansas, to present the check on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to Ozark Human Society Shelter President Kay Watters.

“These improvements will give the shelter a fresh look to make the buildings more appealing for potential adopting families and cleaner and safer for our dogs, cats and staff,” Watters said. “We are very grateful for the support and confidence extended to our organization by the Arvest Foundation through this grant.

Ozark Humane Society’s mission is to rescue and provide a temporary home for abandoned and homeless dogs and cats in the area until each can be matched with an appropriate and welcoming forever home. The organization also works to educate the community on the benefits of spaying and neutering dogs and cats for better health and population control.

“We are excited to present this donation to such a beloved community organization on behalf of the Arvest Foundation,” Tennyson said. “The Ozark Humane Society has helped many families find their beloved pets, and this organization truly helps animals in need.”

Watters also thanked Arvest volunteers who visited the shelter to walk dogs and socialize kittens, assist with spay and neuter clinics and help sort merchandise at the organization’s Cause for Paws Thrift Store.

“We hope these volunteers will come back and help us, as volunteering is so needed,” she added. “We also want to say thanks on behalf of our adoptable dogs and cats for the big donations of dog and cat food, toys, treats, blankets and towels.”
