Officers from the Eureka Springs Police Department arrived on the scene and observed the suspect, 36-year-old Christopher Vanschoick sitting in a vehicle. When the officers confronted Vanschoick, a struggle took place that led to the suspect producing a handgun with one of the officers then firing his gun striking Vanschoick who died from his injuries.
