Having faith in publishers is one mistake writers make, according to writer Marlon Hayes.
He appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Tuesday to talk about these mistakes, his writing and more. The mistakes are as follows:
- Believing in publishers - Hayes explained that it's a problem because some publishers have binding contracts and don't deliver on promises.
- Not keeping rights for audiobooks
- Not having a lawyer review contracts
- Putting all of your writing eggs into the basket of one publisher
He kicked off his writing experience with poetry. His first piece is still in his mom's possession. Hayes is a member of the Bumbershoots Writers Society
It is located in northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri. Hayes got his start in writing by brainstorming ideas to enhance already existing stories.
His books are available for purchase online. More was discussed during the broadcast.
The full interview with Hayes is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
