An area school district releases information recognizing the quick action of a school bus driver helping a student in distress.

According to a Facebook Post from the Blue Eye School District, school bus driver Naomi Bien saw that a second grade student had begun chocking on something. Bien was able to use a "LifeVac" unit which is on each Blue Eye School Bus that creates suction to remove a lodged object from a person.

The post also sends a thank you to Andy Gilgore of Port of Kimberling Marina for the donations of the "LifeVac" units for each bus in the district.

The complete release from the Blue Eye School District can be seen below:

Bus Driver Naomi Bien sprang into action when 2nd grade student, Brodi Gunter started choking on the bus. Miss Naomi is very humble and did not want any recognition, but we are so proud of Miss Naomi’s actions and want her to know how much she is appreciated!

We also want to thank the Port of Kimberling Marina for their donation of a “LifeVac” unit for each bus! These anti-choking devices are designed to create a one-way suction to remove the lodged object. A huge shoutout to Andy Kilgore, General Manager of the Port of Kimberling Marina, for supporting the safety of the Blue Eye students!
