Boone County Tornado Relief Information Update

The latest information on Tornado Relief for Boone County from the Office of Judge Robert Hathaway.

Any residents needing assistance with places to stay – Call American Red Cross 1-800-733-2767.

Volunteers Needed:

Valley Springs School District:
Saturday, June 1st will be a workday to help our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to help clean up debris. This will count as community service for Valley Springs High School Students. If you are over 18 and want to help with equipment that would be great. Volunteers will meet in front of the new gym at 8 am Saturday morning. Lunch will be provided. Everyone should wear closed-toe shoes and jeans (no shorts, please), also you will need gloves. You must have transportation to the work site(s). Water will be provided. First Community Bank providing snacks. If you need help with clean up or know someone who does, please call 870-302-3047 so we can add you/them to a list. We can't guarantee we will get to everyone, but we sure will try.

Donations – Drop off AND Pick up:
We have many asking about donations for those impacted by the tornadoes in Boone County, the below locations are currently serving as drop off locations and pick-up locations for those in need:

Location #4:
Camp Jack is opening their food and clothing pantry to ANYONE, Veteran or not, that is in need. Please call the office at (870) 517-6044.

Location #1:
The Olvey Bible Church will be serving lunch for those affected by the tornado and all who are helping with clean up at 12pm and serving dinner at 5pm at Harmon Fire Station 1 (26 Harmon Road) on both Thursday (5/30) and Friday (5/31).

Location #2:
Valley Springs Fire Department 
On Saturday, June 1st from 10am to 12pm, the North Central Arkansas Food Bank will be at Valley Springs Fire Department Station 1, located at 9097 Hwy 65 South, Harrison. Resources that will be available for those affected by the tornado are listed below:
25lbs box of shelf stable food 
2lbs bag of frozen catfish 
5lbs bag of chicken quarters 
4lbs of hamburger meat 
3lbs bag of apples 
Fresh peaches 
Water 
Wal-Mart gift cards 
Personal hygiene products

Location #3: 
Harmon Fire Department
Thursday, May 30, 2024: Come out to Harmon Station 1. We have burgers and brats. Tonight starting at 5pm we will have tacos!
On Saturday, June 1st from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the North Central Arkansas Food Bank will be at the Harmon Fire Dept. ST. 1 at 26 Harmon Rd. They will be handing out 25 lb boxes of shelf stable food, frozen catfish, chicken, and beef, gift cards, and hygiene products to people impacted by the tornado.

Location #4:
Bellefonte Church of Christ: Saturday 6/1/24 at 2:30 pm, we will be doing pulled pork sandwiches, chips, snack and water. If you can come by the church, we will make sure you and your family get a meal.  if you cannot make it, please contact us at 870-686-6063 by text or by calling.
Also, storm victims, there will be a tent set up and you can fill out a form for assistance.  Weichert Realtors will be on site to help with this.
Location #5:
Salsa’s Grill of Harrison – call 870-391-3840 or message on Facebook if anyone is in need of food for themselves or their families. 


Dumpsters Available:
Location #1:
LRS roll off dumpster at Valley Springs Station 1, located at 9097 Hwy 65 South, Harrison. Those with tornado damage are more than welcome to come dump their debris.
The following items can NOT be dumped: 
No tires
No refrigerants
No refrigerated appliances
No yard waste (Limbs, brush, and trees)

Location #2:
LRS roll off dumpster next to the Anderson's propane tanks in Harmon. At the corner of Joe Holt Road/Hwy 62 East. Those with tornado damage are more than welcome to come dump their debris.
The following items can NOT be dumped: 
No tires
No refrigerants
No refrigerated appliances
No yard waste (Limbs, brush, and trees)

Animal Needs:

Animal supplies available at donation spots (provided above).

If anyone has a pet that was injured during the storm and needs veterinary attention or any feed, please contact Valley Springs Fire Department at 870-429-5500.
