Dry Areas Expanding in Lakes Region

In data collected before the arrival of the remnants of Hurricane Francine, the Lakes Region is in an area of increasing dry conditions.

The data released by the US Drought Monitor shows Barry County in Missouri and parts of Carroll and Madison Counties in Arkansas are at a Moderate Drought Level which indicates the beginning of stress on crops while river and stream levels remain low.
With the exception of eastern Ozark County in Missouri, the rest of the region including both the Branson and Harrison areas are at an Abnormally Dry Level.

Some parts of the Lakes Region will still see scattered light rain from Francine today but otherwise, a dry weather pattern will return during the weekend with temperatures warming back up.
