Faith Community Health Becomes Hope Counseling Center, Focuses on Mental Health

After 15 years of providing Healthcare Needs for the uninsured and under-insured in the Lakes Region, Faith Community Health revises its focus to meet the demand for Mental Health Services.

According to a release from the organization, a name change goes with the focus change as the clinic will now be known as Hope Counseling Center. Faith Community Health Board Chair Annie McGregor says in the release the initial goals of Faith Community Health when it opened in 2009 to help fill the void for healthcare services is now being met thanks to Medicaid expansion, more providers coming to the region, as well as the Affordable Care Act.

Executive Director Kyle David adds in the release that Faith is responding to demand in the region by focusing solely on Mental Health services. David says grants from the Skaggs Foundation and through the American Rescue Plan  Act program issued by Taney County is helping get the program underway.

The current facility on Branson Hills Parkway is being remodeled and will be home to two licensed counselors and two graduate interns. The release also states that a sliding scale fee that the clinic has used for its primary care services will also be used for the Mental Health Clinic. The clinic is scheduled to be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

More information on the transition can be found on the Faith Community Health Website.
