Final Day to Apply for Missouri Bear Hunting Season

Today is the last day to apply for a chance to be a part of Missouri's First Bear Hunting Season.

The season, which is scheduled to run in October, will allow 400 hunters to hunt for a limited number of bears in three different zones. In the Lakes Region, half of those hunter permits will be issued with a total limit of bears harvested to be 20 with 20 other bears to be harvested between two other zones in southern Missouri. The applicants accepted for the Bear Hunting Season will be notified by July 1.

Today is also the application for the Elk Hunting Season this fall with the hunting area limited to three counties in southeast Missouri.
