Over the last few days, several fires have hit the Lakes Region.
While one was a prescribed burn in the Mark Twain National Forest south of Bradleyville, other fires on Wednesday required several units to knock down.
Southern Stone County Fire says in a Facebook post by Public Information Officer Paul O’Neal that several of their crews were called to an outdoor fire at the south end of Keystone Road and east of Stonebridge just after 2:00 pm that was estimated to be 70-80 acres.
Just over an hour later, a structure fire occurred around Notch that was worked by some of the remaining Stone County Firefighters with major assistance provided by the Branson Fire Department and the Western Taney County Firefighters.
While the house where the fire started suffered significant damage, the quick response by Branson and Western Taney County were instrumental in saving adjoining residences according to the post.
The post concluded with a thanks from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District to both Western Taney County Fire and the Branson Fire Department for their assistance with the fire.
