A former children's education professional is the author of "Chicken Fun."
Mary Jo Huff appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Thursday to discuss her work. She's a children's author with a background in children's education. "Chicken Fun" is a book she wrote based on a song by the same name.
Huff said she wrote the song. The author said her song paid her bills for close to nine years. She also sees her book as a success.
"In the world of self-publishing, I consider it very successful," Huff said. She currently has three books on the market with another scheduled for 2025.
That book is titled "The Predictable Persimmon." She highlighted the legend of the persimmon's ability to predict the weather.
She said she owned a preschool for 38 years. Before writing stories in books, she penned nine resource books.
Additional information about Huff and her work is online. More was discussed on the broadcast.
