Gertie Castetter: "I Feel Like God is Mine"

94-year-old Gertie Castetter has lived on a journey to grow close to God and understand the Bible and has helped others on that path.

She pieced together documents to help her and eventually others on that journey. Castetter appeared on the "Person of Interest" segment of KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Tuesday to share some of her story. The author launched into journaling before getting married. A desire to understand the Bible fueled her journal-writing.

She didn't write but took pages from Bible guidebooks she would read. She would take cuts from these books and paste them into a notebook. She gave her first book containing her findings to Ron Hutchcraft of Hutchcraft Ministries.

She did this because Hutchcraft ministers to Native Americans and wanted them to have an understandable resource. Castetter didn't compile her discoveries on a daily basis but often. She kept all that she found. "The days were there," she said with a laugh.

Castetter continues to read and cut and paste what she finds. Her journey to understand the Bible brought her to a realization.

"I feel like God is mine." "It's not a stranger. It's not company I see every once in a while. He just lives with me," Castetter added joyfully.

The full interview with Castetter is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
