Milton: Meeting to Update Downtown Improvement Project

The City of Branson will look for public input to get the Downtown Improvement Project moving forward after no bids were received from contractors.

Mayor Larry Milton, during a conversation on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, said that the short construction period and the penalties for not getting the project done on time were some of the reasons given for the lack of bids on the proposal. Milton said that some of the options to be discussed include revising the current proposal to get underway later this year or hold off until 2026. Milton said that getting the feelings of the impacted businesses before moving forward. 

Milton also addressed the ongoing concerns of both the Plumb Nellie and Autumn Daze Craft Festivals and the impact om downtown businesses. Milton said the downtown construction could force relocation of the festivals temporarily while the discussion continues on the future course of those events.
