New ARDOT Plan Includes Work on Highway 412 in Northern Arkansas

A highway that has been declared a major corridor by the Federal Government will get plenty of attention from the Arkansas Department of Transportation in their proposed Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2025-2028.

According to a release from ARDOT, several areas of U.S. Highway 412 will received attention during the period. Highway 412 was declared a "High Priority Corridor" in the 1990's by the Federal Government because of its economic importance to the region.

In the Lakes Region, 412 which runs concurrent with U.S. Highway 62 in Marion and Boone Counties as well as with U.S. Highway 65 through Harrison, will include additional passing lanes in sections between Yellville and Bellefonte as well some repaving. Also part of the project will be long planned improvements to the Highway 65/62/412 section running through Harrison including signal light coordination and a widening project between Industrial Park Road and Highway 7 South. In addition, 412 will see other passing lanes added in sections of Carroll and Madison Counties.

Highway 65 will also see repaving done in Boone Country from the Missouri State Line to the north intersection with Highway 62/412 and a widening of Highway 65 around Western Grove in Newton County. Other projects listed include intersection improvements to state highways in both Berryville and Eureka Springs and passing lanes on Arkansas State Highway 21 from Berryville to Highway 412.

More information on the plan can be found on the ARDOT Website.
