Ozark County Woman Faces Charges in Man's Death

An Ozark County man is dead, and his live-in girlfriend is facing charges in his death after he was thrown from a moving vehicle during an argument between the two.

Mark Ault was taken to Cox Medical Center in Springfield for treatment but died Thursday afternoon from a massive head trauma.

According to information from Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin, the incident happened Wednesday morning at the residence he shared with Shannon Lori Collins about six miles west of Gainesville. The sheriff says after an argument, Collins was attempting to leave, and Ault was attempting to stop her and was standing on the running boards of her vehicle when she stopped the vehicle which forced him off of the vehicle and he hit his head causing trauma.

Collins is facing charges for the incident which could include a murder charge. She is being held in the Ozark County Jail without bond.
