Potential Pete Newman Parole to be Challenged

The man who is in prison for molesting children while a counselor at Kanakuk Kamps is eligible for parole later this year.

In 2010, Pete Newman began serving two life sentences plus 30 years for sexually abusing boys at the camp. Due to the terms of his sentencing, he is becoming eligible for parole later this year, an eligibility that is being challenged by several people.

The Branson Tri-Lakes News and Ozarks First both have heard from survivors and their family members that they intend to object to Newman's parole and Lakes Area State Representative Brian Setiz tells the Branson Tri-Lakes News and Ozarks Dynacom of his intentions to reach out the Missouri Governor Mike Parson to express the importance of keeping Newman locked-up.
