Recovery Center of the Ozarks Wants to Bring Hope to Recovery

Recovery Center of the Ozarks seeks to not only provide recovery but hope too, according to Peer Specialist Jeremiah Woehl.

Woehl and the center's Work Program Coordinator Kenny Neel appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the work they do and more. Woehl said that life experience is what he and others like him can share with others. While he can't give people what he has on the inside, he explained that his journey and exemplifying hope are what's offered.

Hope, he said, is often what's missing when someone has recovered. He wants people to see that doing something wrong doesn't mean they're beyond help.

That help sometimes involves detoxing. Woehl explained that they are a "peer organization" and will outsource to partner groups when it comes to specific services.

The center's reputation is expanding. Woehl said that the organization serves people in Boone County's jail. They will help anyone needing help.

Woehl said that sometimes that means connecting someone with another avenue rather than taking them into the recovery center. Later, Neel talked about Adopt-A-Yard.

It's a way to give back. Neel said that people will nominate a yard to experience recovery or beautification.

Woehl added that's another method to spread hope. He said the group will take care of the nominated yard during each season. Anyone wanting to contact Recovery Center of the Ozarks can call 870-280-8089 or call Woehl directly at 870-577-1565.

Additional information about the center is online. More was discussed during the broadcast.

The full interview with Woehl and Neel is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
