Republican candidates gather at Big Cedar

Taney and Stone County voters had the opportunity to speak to many of the region’s candidates for political office at a “Liberty Rally” held Saturday, June 8, at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale.

The candidates ranged from gubernatorial candidates to county commissioners. Tables promoting the candidates lined a hallway and a conference room with stacks of campaign flyers, information sheets, and baskets of Halloween sized pieces of candy.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the voters to meet their candidates and representatives at one time,” State Rep. Brian Seitz.

Both Seitz and his primary opponent Carolyn Boss were in attendance at the gathering, with Seitz emphasizing to voters his connections in the State House and how they work to his advantage when trying to accomplish things for his district.
