A Springfield man is in the Stone County Jail charged with an assault on a victim in Branson West.

Christopher Dustin White is facing a count of first degree assault and armed criminal action. If convicted, the assault charge can bring five to 15 years in state prison.

According to court documents, the victim told police White had attacked them with a pair of nunchucks.

The victim said White attacked them because they had backed out of a deal to buy a truck from White.

The victim said after the assault, White followed them back to their home and forced them to do methamphetamine, calling it a “peace offering.” The victim said they didn’t want to do drugs with White, but they were afraid he would kill them if they did not partake.

White is in the Stone County jail on $100,000 bond. In a court appearance earlier this week, a Preliminary Hearing was set in Stone County Court for July 30.
