Strong winds knock down Power Poles and close a Highway through Purdy early Sunday morning.
According to a report to the National Weather Service from Barry County Emergency Management, two poles snapped on Highway C falling on Purdy Fire Department Apparatus damaging the wind shield. The report goes on to say that the winds were associated with showers that mixed with down strong winds aloft to cause the damage. Highway C was closed for a few hours while the damage was repaired.
Hometown Town Daily News received reports of dime size hail in the Branson area while the Weather Service received reports of hail in the Cassville area in Barry County as well as Goodhope in Douglas County.
Flooding issues were reported in northeast Taney County near Bradleyville where Old Cheese Plant Road was impassable due to quickly rising water while MODOT reports several roads still closed Sunday afternoon due to heavy rain.
Much of the Missouri Lakes Region is under a Flood Advisory the rest of Sunday afternoon though most of the rain has ended in the region.
