Taney County Health Department Experiences Growth

2024 moves along, and the Taney County Health Department (TCHD) continues moving forward with growth.

Lisa Marshall talked about the new and old during her presentation of the department's annual report. As the director of the department, she delivered the report at the Tuesday night Branson Board of Aldermen meeting.

She said the 44 employee trainings were recorded in 2023. The trainings are necessary for team development. The director also pointed out that the TCHD environmental health team has grown.

The environmental health team is important for Branson tourism. Marshall expressed that the team will grow to meet the needs of the ever-growing city. Lodging stands as a key part of the city's tourism.

Marshall said Branson has the largest program when it comes to lodging in comparison to the rest of Missouri. "So, our team is very busy making sure that our lodging facilities are healthy and safe." The department's environmental health team also works to ensure the health of Branson's restaurants and pools.

That's not all though. The county health director explained that the department's work extends into childcare businesses, tattoo and massage businesses. The growth of the environment-focused team gives rise to a need.

Some of the office space needs expansion. That update for the office was made possible by grant money.
