The Addams Family musical will bring chaos and fun to Harrison High School
Bandon Jones and Ann Riely appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the production. It will run for two weekends from April 12 to April 14 and April 19 to April 21 at the high school. The shows kick off at 7 p.m. with the exception of the Sunday shows.
They will start at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online and at the door. The cast members talked about their roles and highlighted parts of the musical story.
Riely plays Morticia Addams and Jones plays Gomez Addams. The musical follows the whacky and close-knit family as they celebrate their ancestors.
In the midst of that, Wednesday Addams falls in love with Lucas Beineke; he's an average guy, one who is nothing like the family. The young lovebirds desire engagement. The conflict heats up as Wednesday and Gomez attempt to keep the engagement a secret.
The two performers talked about how they approached the iconic roles. Jones said he casually watched The Addams Family show with his father as he was growing up. The stress pushes him to do well. "It's such an iconic role, and if you mess up, people will be mad, because they grew up watching this," Jones said.
He pointed to the character's traits, calling him "overdramatic," and "so romantic." Riely has wanted to perform the role of Morticia for close to two years ago.
"Morticia has actually been my dream role for the last two years, so, the fact that I get to end high school off with a bang, it's a pretty big deal for me," Riely said.
