The Aurora Houn' Dawgs rally in the second half and roll by the Hollister Tigers 42-31 in a match-up of District Football leaders delayed two days by Friday's Thunderstorms.
The first quarter started out slow for both teams with neither team scoring though Aurora got close once before turning the ball over. The Houn' Dawgs to get an early second quarter score to take the lead with the Tigers answering later on a Luke Calovich to Noah Richardson pass then after recovering a muff on the kick-off, scored again on seconds on a Blake Russell run. The Tigers eventually come out on top at halftime after scoring in the final minute 18-14 but after a early touchdown pass in the third quarter from Calovich to Russell, the visitors took over and to secure the win and the inside track for the District top spot with just three weeks to go in the regular season.
A turnover in the third quarter put the momentum on the Aurora side as a strong running game to control the second half to gain the win.
The Tigers drop to 4-2 with the loss while Aurora moves to 5-1 with the win.
Hollister hits the road this Friday going to Rogersville.
