Blue Eye Basketball News: Elfrink Retires, Turner Takes AD Role, New Coaches Announced

Changes are coming to the Blue Eye School Athletic Staff which includes the retirement of their longtime Girls Basketball Coach and Athletic Director Ken Elfrink.

The changes were announced in a social media post from the school district.

Elfrink, who won over 450 games in his tenure leading the Lady Bulldogs, ends his run with five straight District Titles and three straight third place finishes in the Class 2 State Tournament. Elfrink also served as the High School Athletic Director and was Girls Softball Coach.

Besides Elfrink's retirement, here are the other changes for the Blue Eye Athletic Program:
Kyle Turner is stepping down as Boys Basketball Coach and will assume the role of Athletic Director. Turner led the Bulldogs to a pair of District Titles during his tenure, including this past season. He was also an assistant coach for the Bulldogs on their Final Four run in 2009. A standout on that team, current Assistant Coach Trae Patton, will assume Head Coaching duties next year.

Elfrink's replacement as Girls Basketball and Softball Coach will be Jeff Dishman, who just moved to the Lakes region this past school year to lead the Hollister Girls Basketball Program.
