This week in area High School Football sees Missouri teams entering District play while teams in Arkansas on on the home stretch of the regular season.
The Missouri State High School Football District Playoffs begin tonight with two Lakes Area teams at home with Forsyth hosting Springfield Catholic and Hollister entertaining East Newton in Class 2 Games. The Panthers enter tonight with a 6-3 record while Catholic is winless on the season, but played their closest game of the season in the Lakes Region earlier this month, losing a 26-20 decision at Hollister. The Tigers will host a team tonight they beat in a close regular season contest as East Newton will come to town. Earlier in the season, the Tigers edged out the Patriots 14-7 in Granby.
The Branson Pirates meanwhile are on the road tonight for a Class 5 District Match-up with Lebanon. The Pirates are 1-8 taking on a Yellow Jacket squad that lost their only game of the season two weeks ago against District Top Seed Camdenton. While the teams did not play in the regular season, they did match-up in this year's preseason jamboree at Reeds Spring, who is off this week as they are the top seed in their Class 3 District and will host the winner of tonight's Aurora at Cassville match-up next Friday.
In Arkansas, it is Week 9 of the regular season with the Harrison Goblins looking to extend their winning streak to three games as they travel to Clarksville. The Goblins are currently tied for third in the 5A West Conference Standings with Farmington with Harrison's only two conference losses going to top teams Prairie Grove and Shiloh Christian.
All games can be heard on MOARK Sports Dot Com with Harrison-Clarksville also airing on New Country 1029 and Branson-Lebanon on Legends 1063.
Elsewhere in northern Arkansas tonight, Huntsville is at Green Forest while Berryville is at Lincoln.
