Postseason competition ramps up in several activities today with several area schools involved.
Baseball
Hollister High School is hosting the area Class 4 District Tournament which began Saturday with wins for Forsyth and Ava. Semi-final games today include Rogersville and Ava at 4:30 followed by the third meeting of the season for Hollister and Forsyth at 6:30. Each team has one a game in their two meetings. The Hollister-Forsyth match-up can be heard live on MOARK Sports Dot Com.
Meanwhile in Aurora, another Class 4 District will begin play today with Monett and Cassville along with Seneca and Mount Vernon meeting up in opening round games. Aurora and Reeds Spring are the top two seeds and will play the winners of today's games in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
In area Class 2 District play at Verona, Marionville plays the host school while Purdy takes on Galena.
Tennis
The District Champion Branson Pirate Tennis Squad is in the Class 2 State Tournament, hosting Grain Valley in a quarterfinal match this afternoon at 4:00. A win would send the Pirates to the Class 2 State Semi-finals next week in Springfield.
Meanwhile another area District Champion is on their home court today in State Tournament Play as the Forsyth Panthers host a Class 1 State Match-up against Bolivar. This is a four-team sectional competition that will also feature a match between Rogersville and Monett. The two winners will meet later today for the right to move on to the Class 1 Semi-finals next week in Springfield.
Soccer
The Branson Lady Pirates are the top seed in the Class 3 District Tournament and will play their first match in Webb City today at 5:30 against McDonald County.
Golf
Six Lakes Area Golfers qualified for their respective state tournaments that begin today. The players and locations:
