Sparta Capitalizes on Opportunities, Knocks Off Forsyth, Other Wednesday Results

A mix of events scheduled or rescheduled for Wednesday made up the area sports schedule.

In a game heard on MOARK Sports, the Sparta Lady Trojans took advantage of Forsyth miscues to take a 5-0 win over the Lady Panthers in a key softball game between district opponents. The Lady Trojans got two runs in the second and third innings though the Lady Panthers made some plays to stay close, but two costly errors in the fourth allowed three Sparta runs to score to determine the final margin, despite Forsyth outhitting Sparta 4-3. The win for Sparta was the 20th of the season and more than likely securing the top seed for the Lady Trojans in the upcoming district tournament Forsyth will host in May.

Forsyth's Baseball team fared better in their road match-up at Skyline, grabbing a 7-1 win for their fifth win in a row.

In other games, the Carl Junction at Branson Baseball match-up, moved from today due to the forecast of thunderstorms, turned into a win for the Pirates as they edge the Bulldogs 3-2. Branson will play in Mountain Home against the Bombers and West Plains on Saturday in games that can be heard on MOARK Sports.

Also rescheduled to Wednesday from today were the Branson at Carl Junction Soccer match, won by the Lady Bulldogs 3-1 and the Branson at Neosho Tennis match, won by the Pirates 9-0.
