Two People with Lakes Area Connections Honored by Mo Sports Hall of Fame

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame conducted their annual Women’s Sports Luncheon Wednesday in Springfield which included several women getting inducted into the hall.

Two of those women have Lakes Area ties with longtime Branson Parks and Recreation Director Cindy Shook being inducted honoring her longtime role in developing programs in the Branson area as well as her athletic career at Springfield Parkview High School and Missouri State University. 1999 Branson Graduate Amanda Hoenes was also honored as one of the Wynn Award honorees, for her accomplishments including her service in the U.S. Marine Corps and her solo trip down the Missouri and Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico.

Pro Golfer Judy Rankin was the keynote inductee during the Women’s Luncheon.
