Alice Allene (Rateliff) Leverich, age 79, Rogers, AR

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother & grandmother Alice Allene (Rateliff) Leverich, who passed away on June 25, 2023 at the age of 79. Alice was a child of God and would desire all who she knew to grow to know Christ as their ever-loving, everlasting Savior.

            Born on November 4, 1943 in Hope, Arkansas, the daughter of Alonzo and Lois Jean (Smith) Rateliff, she grew up in and around Garland and Texarkana, AR.  She grew up fishing, hunting and farming with her family. Alice graduated high school at Garland, and attended one semester of college at Southern State in Magnolia AR. She then moved to Rogers, AR where she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Donald Earl Leverich. Don and Alice made their living as dairy farmers. Alice passed away at the family farm where their children were raised and they had lived as a family since 1974. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Donald, who proceeded her in death in 2002, and a devoted mother to her children Donald Ray, David Earl & Sherry LuJuan.

            Alice lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden and preserving the harvest. She enjoyed reading books, quilting, canning and many other activities. Alice was an intelligent woman who could talk about any subject and was an avid reader of historical books and novels as well as the bible.

            Alice was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone who knew her. She loved seeing her children and grandchildren grow up, and also enjoyed teaching classes for Wednesday night bible study for the young ladies of Calvary Baptist Church in Exeter.

            She was proceeded in death by her oldest son, Donald Ray, but is survived by her youngest children, David Leverich of Lebanon, MO and Sherry Leverich Lotufo & her husband Robert Lotufo of Exeter, MO & 3 grown grandsons, Noah Tucker, Caleb Tucker and Nate Tucker, who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by 2 younger siblings, Peggy (Fultz) Behrens & Larry Behrens of Exeter, and Jess & Sandra Fultz of Winnie, TX. She also has 1 sister-in-law, Vi Leverich of Wheaton and many beloved nieces and nephews.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the family cemetery, Rambo Cemetery in Rogers, Arkansas. Pastor Randy Comer will conduct the services.

            Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
