Alva “Art” Reed, age 84, of Branson, Missouri.

Alva “Art” Reed, age 84, of Branson, Missouri, passed away December 12, 2024, in Hollister, Missouri. He entered this life August 17, 1940, in St. James, Missouri, the son of James and Marie Reed. Art was joined in marriage on July 23, 1959, to Faithe Fowler. His parents have preceded him in death.

Art was gifted as an instrument creator and musician as well as a pastor for many years. He owned and operated Artfolk Music in Branson, Missouri, where he built dulcimers and sweet harps; he also performed regularly with local musicians. Art previously lived in Defiance, Missouri, where he operated “Seasons and Memories” country store and bike rental as Artfolk Music and Wood along the Katy Trail. He and his wife, Faithe, met while performing in Lee Mace’s Ozark Opry together at the Lake of the Ozarks. He also spent several years as a Methodist and then Bible Church pastor. Many lives have been influenced and changed over the years because of the life of Art. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Art is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Faithe Reed; three sons: Robby (Lea), Danny (Susan), and Michael (Heather); seven grandchildren: David, Angela, Anna, Amanda, Jennifer, Emilee, and Abbigail; ten great-grandchildren: Trinity, Adeline, Logan, Benjamin, Claire, Daniel, Noah, Aubrey, Emma, and Lexi; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty; and brother, Jim.
