Arthur Lee “Art” Goddard, age 83, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Cassville in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born January 14, 1941 in Wann, Oklahoma the son of Earl and Cleora (Dewitt) Goddard. On February 29, 1980 in Riverside, California he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Gross, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Rick Goddard of Tustin, California and Vic Goddard and his wife Denise of Dana Point, California; two stepsons, Brad Gross and his wife Ashley of Cassville, Missouri and Brian Gross and his wife Tonya of Cassville, Missouri; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and one on the way.
Preceding him in death were his parents, along with his stepfather, and siblings.
Art grew up and attended school in Riverside, California graduating from Riverside Polytechnic High School in 1958. He worked laying carpet for a few years before owning and operating his own carpet business for 40 years. Art and Carol shared many good times and fond memories with family and friends. He was special to many people, serving as a father figure to those in his neighborhood, and was always willing to help a friend. He was not a quitter and would stay with whatever he was doing until he got it right. Art and Carol had lived in Cassville for seven years, moving from Riverside, California in 2017. One of Art’s favorite pastimes was buying and restoring old cars, he enjoyed teaching his kids how to fix up old cars, those memories will always be cherished. He was of the Christian faith.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
