Betsy Kage, age 83, Potem, Missouri
Betsy Kage, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, at the age of 83, in Springfield, Missouri. Betsy was born on October 5, 1940, in Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, to Walter and Mirtie (Vaughn) Morgan Sr. She attended school in St. Louis before marrying Edward Kage Jr. and to this union a legacy was born through their four children.
Betsy was led to Missouri fifteen years ago when her and her late husband “Ed” Kage Jr. retired to Protem, Missouri, from Illinois, where they had fond memories. She is survived by her loving children: Michele Stichler of Branson, Missouri, Melinda Kage of Mt. Olive, Illinois, Melissa and husband Richard Knox of Greenville, Illinois, son Mark and wife Phyllis Kage of Holt, Missouri. Betsy was a cherished sister to her brother Danny and his wife Diane Morgan. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Heather Hale, Dustin Koonce, Amy Maroon, Aaron Lawrence, Eric Hubler-Rench, Stephen Lawrence, Leah Stichler, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immeasurable love and joy.
Betsy was preceded in death by: her husband, 5 siblings and 3 grandchildren.
Professionally, Betsy dedicated 20+ years to the DeMoulin Brothers uniform manufacturing company, where she retired as a supervisor in their band coat division. Betsy's work ethic and team spirit were emblematic of her approach to all aspects of her life.
As an accomplished quilter, she earned competitive ribbons for her exquisite work, a testament to her skill and creativity. Her love for puzzle games and reading kept her mind sharp.
A woman of deep faith, Betsy was a committed believer to her Christian faith. She extended her love and support to those in need by participating in a grief support group for twelve years, offering solace and encouragement to many.
Betsy's love for her family was unmeasurable. She invested time and energy into bringing everyone together, creating memories that would last a lifetime. To everyone who knew her, Betsy was a treasure trove of love, kindness, and optimism. Her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and her encouragement was a gift that lifted the spirits of all around her.
