Betty Lucille Nall

Betty Lucille Nall, age 85, of Branson, Missouri.

Betty Lucille Nall, age 85, of Branson, Missouri, passed away peacefully in Springfield, Missouri, on March 3, 2024, with family by her side. Betty had a life filled with love, laughter, friendship, and a strong faith.

She entered this life on July 4, 1938, in Van Buren, Arkansas, the daughter of J.C. and Altha Mae (Greener) Sallee. The family eventually moved to Oran, Missouri, where she spent the majority of her younger years. Betty later moved to Sikeston, Missouri, where she would raise a family of her own with her first husband, Roy Nall until his passing and her eventual move to Branson, Missouri, in the 90s.

Betty was a long-time member of Sonshine Singles at Friendly Baptist Church. As Jesus taught us to serve others, Betty served her fellow church members and community with a great love and sacrifice. As with any life, there were hardships. Betty never allowed those hardships to define or control her. To anyone who encountered her, she was a positive, joyful spirit who always tried to point others towards her Savior’s love. Pick up any spiral notebook laying around her home and you would find page after page of Sunday school lessons or Bible studies she used to prepare for the classes she taught.

In addition to her unwavering faith, anyone who knew Betty knew how much she loved her family. She was the definition of what a loving mother, wife, aunt, and grandmother should be. Always putting the needs of her family ahead of her own, Betty worked hard to ensure they always had what they needed. Betty applied her dedication and servant’s heart to everything she did. Whether it was driving a school bus or preparing food for New Dawn State School in Sikeston, Missouri, or simply talking with vacationers in Branson, her strong work ethic and positive outlook would always shine bright.

Just as hard as she worked and served, Betty also knew how to laugh and have fun. For so many years during her life in Branson, you could usually count on finding Betty spending her evenings with friends playing cards, dominoes, or just simply enjoying their company. It was during this later phase in her life where she would marry her long-time companion, William “Hobo” Hobaugh.

A long-time member of Treasure Lake RV Resort, you could usually count on her and Hobo being in either the clubhouse or lodge with friends and family. Her friendship was valued by so many she encountered. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents: J.C. and Altha Sallee; siblings: Bud Sallee and Dottie Crane; husband, Roy B. Nall; son, Lyndle Nall; and husband, William “Hobo” Hobaugh.

She is survived by her children: Son-Kevin Nall and his wife Crystal, of Branson, Missouri; Daughter, Charlene Nall, of Springfield, Missouri; Son, Dennis Nall and his wife, Cheryl, of Conway, Arkansas. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service is to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Friendly Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri, with a visitation to begin at 1:00 p.m. Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Betty’s name to the Sonshine Singles Fund at Friendly Baptist Church or Veteran’s Memorial Garden in Branson, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
