Brenda Grace Bruce-Hixon

Brenda Grace Bruce-Hixon, age 58, of Golden, Missouri.

Brenda Grace Bruce-Hixon, age 58, of Golden, Missouri, passed away on November 2, 2021. She was born January 8, 1963, the daughter of Bill and Doris (Hensley) Bruce in Mesa, Arizona. She was joined in marriage on June 1, 1996, to Dale Hixon. She is preceded in death by her parents. 

She attended McClintock High School in Mesa, Arizona, where she was a State Champion in golf during her senior year. Later, she was inducted into the Arizona High School Sports Hall of Fame for her accomplishments on the golf course. Brenda graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Special Education and obtained her Master’s in Administration from Northern Arizona University. Education was tremendously important to her; she devoted her life to the education of children, who she cherished dearly. She dedicated twenty-five years of her career to children in special education at Webster Elementary in Mesa, Arizona. 

An adventurous spirit, Brenda never took the same road twice, always enjoying the scenery around her. Brenda held a special place in her heart for the mountains of Arizona, always longing to return home to them. She was a member of Holiday Island Presbyterian Church in Holiday Island, Arkansas. The memories created by Brenda will be cherished by all who were blessed with her influence in their lives. 

She is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, Dale Hixon of Golden, Missouri; stepchildren: Drew Hixon and wife Megan of Phoenix, Arizona and Heather Gregor and husband, Tim of Hillsboro, Oregon; her grandchildren: Keltin, Grady, Easton, and Cash; brother, Jimmy Bruce of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Diane Grant and husband, Ed of Las Vegas, 

Nevada; a niece, Rachael; and her sisters-in-law, Carol Watkins and family, Susan Bumstead, and Kathy Jackman. 

A private family gathering to enjoy Brenda’s favorite, Mexican food, will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Brenda may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate or Preferred Hospice www.preferredhospice.com.
