Cory Michael Wellen, 38 of Branson, MO
With profound sadness, Cory Michael Wellen, formerly of Troy, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Saturday July 17, 2021, at the age of 38. He worked in sales at Spinnaker Resorts in Branson, Missouri. He is survived by his parents: Carol Bauer (Deb Szatkowski) and Brad Wellen (Ellen); sister, Stacy Wellen; stepbrother, Kyle Gordon; and numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Fred and Alberta (Bertie) Bauer; and paternal grandparents: August and Viola Wellen.
Cory was an extremely bright and gifted loving young man who was successful at any job/endeavor he undertook. He loved his family and friends and had a special place in his heart for his dog, Jack. He had an infectious smile that could light up a room and gave the best “bear” hugs that warmed your heart. Cory will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. in the Oak Room at the American Legion, 1022 Vandalia Street, Collinsville, Illinois 62234.
