Daniel Creed “Dan” Bremerthon departed from this world on January 19, 2024, in Hollister, Missouri. He was born on June 27, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, to Ellend Norris and Dorothy (Greene) Bremerthon.
Educated in Southern California, Dan's early years were spent riding the waves, surfing—a pastime that brought him immense joy throughout the 1970s. After high school, Dan earned a certificate in architecture from Cypress College in Cypress, CA. A true love story began when he married Susan (Pinkerton) Bremerthon, on May 16, 1987, in Escondido, California.
Dan's professional journey as a medical records technician at the Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California, was marked not just by his dedication to his role but also by the melodic sounds of his string instruments. A self-taught musician, his ability to create beautiful music extended to guitar, banjo, and dulcimer, often filling the hospital waiting room with entertainment. He was also a talented woodworker, creating gifts that were not only pieces of art but also expressions of his love for his family. After retiring, Dan and Susan moved to Hollister. He loved the change of seasons and driving the meandering and peaceful country roads of Missouri.
Dan was a man of unwavering faith; his love for the Lord and passion for studying the Bible were integral aspects of his life. He lived out his beliefs through his actions. He sought out people to serve and was selfless. Those who knew Dan describe him best with words like "gentle," "loving," and "faith-filled"—a gentle giant whose kindness was ever present. Dan was known for his gratitude, often expressing a deep thankfulness for the life he led, the people he loved, and the simple joys that each day brought to him.
Dan was devoted to his family and an incredible dad and uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife Susan Bremerthon of Hollister, his sister Kathy Riley and her husband Don of San Diego, California, father and mother-in-law, Bill and Linda Pinkerton of Branson, along with his sisters-in-law, Diana Diego of St. Paul, Minnesota, Alice Jones of Branson, and Anne Pinkerton of Springfield, and brother-in-law James Pinkerton and wife Tonya of Escondido, California. Dan held a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Jaime, Jeremy, Joshua, Jordan, Nathan, Sidney, Lucas, William, and Jackson, and will forever be remembered as an incredible uncle and an inspiring figure in their lives.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his cherished son, Joseph Daniel Bremerthon who lived from November 17, 1989 to August 21, 2021.
Dan's legacy of kindness and love continues to live on in the countless lives he touched. His ability to serve people selflessly, coupled with his unwavering dedication as a husband, father, and friend, will remain as enduring reminders of a life well-lived.
Graveside services for Dan will be February 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson where he will be interred next to his son, Joseph Daniel.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
