Douglas Wynn “Doug” Humphrey, age 75, of Fairview, Missouri.
He was born September 20, 1946 in Cortland, New York, the son of Richard and Doris (Wynn) Humphrey. On March 8, 1985 in Reno, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Lorna Beale, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jason Humphrey and his wife April of Joplin, Missouri; three brothers, Rick Humphrey and his wife Tammy of Campbell, New York, Theron Humphrey and his wife Mary of Corning, New York and Chad Humphrey and his wife Jen of Lindley, New York; one sister, Bonnie Oliver and her husband Sid of Fairview, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jaed`en and Kherz`den and twin great grandchildren, Freya and Elizabella.
Preceding him in death were his parents; stepmother, Beatrice; one brother, Danny and one sister, Betsy.
Doug grew up and attended school in Cortland, New York where he graduated from Cortland Junior-Senior High School and studied at Corning Community College. After graduating he joined the United States Air Force and later transferred to the United States Navy. During his time in the service, he lived in forty-nine different locations in forty years. Before settling in Fairview, Missouri in 2016 he retired as a counselor for young men in the New York state prison system. He liked working in the garden and was a model railroad and train enthusiast.
Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Fairview, Missouri. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. “Preacher Man,” Gary L. Crawford will conduct the services.
