Elizabeth Belrose, 96 of Cape Fair.
Elizabeth Belrose, 96 of Cape Fair, entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2024 at her home in Cape Fair with family around her. Born Elizabeth Francis Johnson on October 17, 1927 in Middleboro, Massachusetts, she was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend.
As a young woman, Elizabeth worked in a shoe factory where she met her future husband, Norman Chester Belrose, Sr. They were married on September 3, 1949. After getting married, Elizabeth worked as a housekeeper while raising her five children. Her career also included working in the linen room of a hospital, as the secretary of a plumbing shop, being the manager of a laundromat, and working in the stock room of department stores. Her most cherished role was as a wife, mother and grandmother. During her life she helped to raise several of her grandchildren. After retiring from the working life, she traveled so much she earned the nickname, “The Gypsy”. Elizabeth was a woman of faith and was active in the churches of her community. She was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by many.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Harrison Johnson, Jr. and Elizabeth Mary (Young) Johnson; her siblings, Marion Louise Johnson and William Henry Harrison Johnson, III; her husband, Norman Chester Belrose, Sr.; son-in-law, Mike Briggs; and grandsons, Daniel Kendled and David Patrick, Sr. and his wife Beth Perry.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty (Howes) Johnson; her five children, Norman Chester “Chuck” Belrose, Jr. and wife Lajuana of TX, Marion Briggs of MA, Ronald Belrose and wife Claire of MA, Karen Pierce of MO and Judy Shepley and husband Steve of MA; grandchildren, Michelle Belrose, William Belrose, Victoria Belrose-Wooten and husband Matthew, Heather Totoro, Jennifer Gunn, Chris Belrose and wife Shana Baddley-Robledo, Tammy Patrick and partner Raymond Honl, Sr., Sara Mann and husband Eric, Heidi Pierce and husband Chad Bieber, Ronald Pierce, Jr., Curtis Pierce, Stephen Shepley, Chrissy Sampson and husband Kyle and Dawn Travis and husband Shawn. She will also be missed by her twenty-six great grandchildren, Madden Hernandez, Jace Hernandez, , Hadalye Hernandez, Auroura Hernandez, Bradley Wooten, Slade Wooten, Mallorie Patrick, Brooklyn Patrick, David Patrick, Jr., Christopher Patrick, Darnell Mendes, Alaysha Mendes, Shayla Mendes, Raymond Honl, Jr., Jaxson Mann, Morgan Mann, Lila Pierce, Quin Bieber, Anne Bieber, Kaleb Sampson, Carson Sampson, Austyn Travis, Ethyn Travis, Collyn Travis, Katelyn Travis, and Uri Belrose along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
