Eric Lewis Richards, age 52, Branson, Missouri
It was once said, “That a measure of a man was the lives he affected” and that describes the life of Eric Lewis Richards. During Eric’s journey here on Earth thousands of lives were blessed and changed from his kindness. He was a remarkable Minister of the Word of God but he was more about walking the talk and taking a “Hands On” approach to sharing the love of His Savior Jesus Christ.
He was always available to fix a toilet, work on someone’s car, help people move, and share his “fix anything” talent with those in need, never asking for anything in return.
Eric’s deep understanding of the Word of GOD enlightened those around him and he was continually encouraging them that they served a GOD of love and blessings and there was power in our spoken word that could change lives, heal broken bodies, and give hope to the hopeless.
Eric Lewis Richards, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and minister, passed away on July 3, 2023, in Branson, Missouri, due to injuries sustained in an accident. Born on January 12, 1971, in Spokane, Washington, Eric was a beacon of faith, kindness, and selflessness, touching the lives of thousands throughout his lifetime.
Eric was the cherished son of Billy Richards of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Sandra Richards of San Diego, California. He was a loving brother to Laura Fasano of Hernando, Mississippi, Carolyn Matthews, and Michelle Richards, both of San Diego, California. Eric often fondly and jokingly referred to himself as the "favorite son."
Eric's journey of education and faith began in Yuma, Arizona, where he graduated from high school. His path led him to Christ for the Nations College in Dallas, where he met the love of his life, Christina "Tina" Bates. The couple was united in holy matrimony on August 24, 1996, in Brighton, Iowa, by Tina's father. Eric and Tina both graduated from Rhema Bible College.
Following his marriage, Eric embarked on a lifelong journey in ministry. He served as the children's pastor at Abundant Life Fellowship in Bozeman, Montana, before moving to Branson and assuming the same role at Faith Life Church. Eric's calling also led him to a career in real estate with Branson Lakes Country Realty. It was here that he met Shane Grady and joined him in mission work in the Philippines through Harvest House International Ministries.
Eric's service extended beyond the borders of the United States. As a young man, he began his mission work, serving in Guatemala, Mexico, Germany, and the Philippines. His dedication to spreading hope and faith was also evident in the weekly broadcast, "Be Encouraged," which he and Tina had ran for the last six years.
Eric's most profound joy came from his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tina, and their children, Maveric Richards of Pt. Lookout, Missouri, Jasmine Richards, and Liberty Richards, both of Hollister. Eric's love for his children was boundless, and they were the joy of his life.
Eric was a man of immense faith, kindness, and selflessness. His legacy is one of love, service, and devotion to his family, friends, and faith. He was a friend to thousands, and his loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Eric Lewis Richards lived a life full of purpose, faith, and love. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched through his ministry and mission work.
A celebration of his home going will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at King’s, 1839 W. 76 Country Blvd, Branson.
