Floyd Eugene “Slick” Pippin, age 94, of Seligman, Missouri passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at his home.
He was born June 4, 1927 in Seligman, Missouri the son of Coleman Bedford and Chloe Caroline (Roller) Pippin. On July 20, 1954 in Cassville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Bertha Fae Cooper, who preceded him in death on April 15, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Brenda Hardcastle; one grandson, Walter Cotton; seven siblings and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving are one son, Michael Pippin of Seligman, Missouri; three grandchildren, Dallas Cotton and his wife Kim, Corey Pippin and his wife Jessica and Chloe Cotton and friend Brian and five great grandchildren, Addison, Sophia, Dakota, Jesse and Mikey.
Slick spent his entire life in the Seligman area where he attended Rock Springs School. At the age of seventeen he joined the United States Navy where he served during the end of World War II and all of the Korean Conflict. After he was discharged, he came home, bought a farm and started raising cattle. He enjoyed farming, aggravating and riling people up with his good-natured kidding. You could count on Slick, he would help anyone anytime, day or night. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February, 10, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Dale Stover will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at King Cemetery in Seligman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society in memory of Slick.
