Frances Marie Jeffrey

Frances Marie Jeffrey, age 82, of Branson, Missouri.

Frances Marie Jeffrey, age 82, of Branson, Missouri, passed away September 1, 2024, with her children by her side. She was born September 28, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Francis William and Virginia “Alta” (Gilmore) Bouley.

On November 13, 1960, she married Roger Jeffrey in Willis, Kansas, in the presence of close friends Delbert and Bonnie Jacobson. To this union four children were born. They renewed their vows on November 13, 2010, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church for their 50th anniversary.  They were later divorced in 2018.

Frances was proud to have been raised in Willis, Kansas.  She also lived in Horton and Everest, Kansas, Rockaway Beach and Branson, Missouri.  She was a talented seamstress, creating one-of-a-kind projects from embroidered, bedazzled jeans to a homecoming outfit overnight.  She was often listening to Elvis’s music or acting out “kiss my grits” in full character.  She enjoyed having coffee visits with her close friend, June Woodruff as well as the companionship of her White Persian cat, Lily. She had a love for genealogy and spent many hours researching her family history going back many generations.  Frances earned her dietetic certification through Drury University and worked as a dietician at Skaggs Hospital (now Cox Branson), and Horton Hospital. She enjoyed helping others and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Powers; sister-in-law, Barbara (Holthaus Jeffrey) Jones; brothers-in-law: Philip Schuetz, Robert (Bob) Griffin, and Robert (Bob) Jeffrey.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Lisa) Jeffrey, Alamogordo of New Mexico; daughters: Charie Barton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Sandi (Leland) Winkelbauer of Topeka, Kansas, and Angela (Tim) Wilson of Horton, Kansas; former husband, Roger Jeffrey of Everest, Kansas; grandchildren: Gavin Jeffrey of Lawrence, Kansas, Gracie Jeffrey of Lawrence, Kansas, Stacia (Mike Wynant Jr) Barton of Branson, Missouri, Brooke Barton of Panama City, Florida, Brett (Jessica) Barton of Yanceyville, North Carolina, Mathew (Lisa) Winkelbauer of Topeka, Kansas, Paul (Courtney) Winkelbauer of Topeka, Kansas, Jared (Stefanie) Wilson of Hiawatha, Kansas, and Chase (Libby) Wilson of Horton, Kansas; step-grandchildren: Justin (Crystal) Barton of Bixby, Oklahoma, Joshua (Danni) Barton of Coweta Oklahoma. She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Kylie Scott and Ashlan Walburn, Lexie Mata and Julian Barton, Jacob and Amelia Winkelbauer, Leigha, Maggie and Pearl Winkelbauer, Allison and Elijah Wilson, Henry and Silas Wilson; step great grandchildren: Austin and Miranda Wynant, Kelsey Whitlock, Haylee, Kaylee, Shaylee, Avalee and CJ Barton, Braden and Madison Barton;  sisters: Mary Jane Griffin of Atchison of Kansas and Virginia Schuetz (Richard) Old of Bonner Springs, Kansas; brother, Raymond (Jean) Bouley of Burns, Wyoming; brother-in-law, Cecil (Beverely) Jeffrey of Effingham, Kansas; sister-in-law, Patricia (Scott) Andrews of Topeka, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet family and friends from 9 a.m. ― 10 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Horton, Kansas, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, followed by a rosary at 10 a.m., and funeral mass with Fr. Dan Gardner as celebrant at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Leo’s Catholic Church.
