Glen “David” Boone

Glen “David” Boone, age 79, of Nixa, Missouri.

Glen “David” Boone, age 79, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away September 26, 2024, in Branson, Missouri. He entered in this life on January 6, 1945, the son of Glen and Elsa (Davidson) Boone of Arcadia, Kansas.

David grew up in Mulvane, Kansas, where he was a star athlete, playing multiple sports for the Mulvane Wildcats. He was a quarterback for the football team, point guard for the basketball team, played second base on the baseball team, and ran track. David graduated from Mulvane High School in 1963 and attended Chanute Junior College on a track scholarship. David worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas for 30 years where he earned many awards for his work in Research and Development. While working for Boeing, David also owned and operated the Bi-State Drive-in Movie Theatre in Caldwell, Kansas. He served as a 32nd Degree Mason prior to moving to Missouri.

David was a proud street rodder, building and showing many cars over the years, including a 1979 Corvette, 1936 Chevrolet sedan, 1957 Chevy pick-up, 1923 Ford T-bucket, 1968 Chevrolet Camaro, 1929 Ford Model A coupe, 1953 Ford F-100, and a 1965 Chevelle. David won hundreds of awards, trophies, and plaques for his hot rods, but his favorite to receive were the “Kids Choice” awards. David was respected for his craftsmanship and loved for his kindness to others. He will be missed, but the memories he created for others will be cherished for years to come.

David is survived by his daughter, Jessica Wright and husband, Matt of Walnut Shade, Missouri; and six grandchildren: Alex, C.J., Courtney, Brody, Lucas, and Addison.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dary Boone and Chad Boone; as well as a brother, Rick Boone.

A private service will be held at a later time. David loved kids and was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude's.
