Obituary

Glennwood Price

October 6, 1950 – February 16, 2023

Glennwood Clifford Price “Glenny”, 72, of Ozark, Missouri left this earth on February 16th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family to join his father Lillard, his mother Martha, his first son Marc and his first granddaughter Nicole (Niki) in heaven. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grand-father and uncle. Glen was born October 6, 1950, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He loved fishing, hunting, running through the woods and swimming in the creek. Then at age 8 his parents moved the family to Arizona where Glenn graduated from Amphitheater High school in 1968. His first job was at a gas station where he learned to work on cars.

In the summer of 1969 with a nod from his father and a frown from his mother Glenn proudly joined the US Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam as a motor vehicle operator and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal. In 1971 he transferred to the United States Reserves then honorably discharged in 1975. During his years in the military, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Medal. His faith in God along with his deep love and pride for his Country stayed with him the remainder of his life.

After service Glenny lived in California for a short time however family meaning so much to him, he found himself back in Tucson, Arizona, where in 1975 while enjoying one of his favorite hobbies (bowling) he met the love of his life, Sylvia. They were married one year later on November 03, 1976. Together they were blessed with 8 children. He enjoyed his work at Bruce Greer, servicing construction machinery and large trucks.

Glenny’s passion was his family, he treasured watching his children grow up to be successful in life, teaching them to be self-reliant but to also be humble enough to ask for help if truly needed. He was proud of all his children; they were his greatest legacy. He was also a jokester, he loved to make people laugh. His favorite things were working on cars, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, planting a garden, looking for mushrooms and family functions, holidays, rainy days or sunny days just any day that brought his family together. He was a true patriot, loved his flag and his country and he was never afraid to voice his opinion or to stand tall and proud when he did so, but he never itinually crewel to anyone, he was truly the man that would give you the shirt off his own back, not just by word but by action. Glenn was that husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, brother, friend that you could really count on. He was one of a kind and will be missed by so many. His favorite day was every day.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 46 years: Sylvia Price of Ozark, Mo., Children Margery (Boo) of Texas, Paula Turner of Tucson, Az., Shawn Price (Melissa) of Hollister, Mo.
