Guy “Bud” Morrow, 74 of Branson, MO
Guy “Bud” Morrow passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 74 years old at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO after a short illness.
Bud was born on July 13, 1947 in Fort Smith, AR to Paul & Signa Morrow. Bud started his hard working career working for his Uncle Bob at Hawkins Heating & Cooling. From there he moved on the be a disc jockey for KAAY where he earned the name and was known as the original “Doc Holiday”. Shortly after, he found interest in welding and metal fabrication on towers with a man named Stormy Weathers in Oklahoma. Stormy taught Bud the in’s and out’s of tower manufacturing. Close to a decade later Bud found a little shop in Branson, MO where he started his own tower company, Bethleham Tower Works. Then over a span of 35+ years Bud built towers all over the United States for radio broadcasting and paving the way for cell phone towers which we still use today. After Bud sold his tower company to his brother, his “retirement” was a new business known as “Doc’s Amusement” in the early 1990s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Signa Morrow and two brothers Max Morrow and Paul Morrow.
Bud leaves behind his five children, Sherri Morrow, Shannon Morrow, Leann Myers, Heather Morrow and Josef (Michelle) Marheine along with five grandchildren, Payton Lilley, Jordan Williams, Emma Morrow, Shelby Woods and Gabriel Marheine.
Services will be Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
