Graveside services for Harold T. Whorton will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
Pastor Billy Burris will officiate. Services are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Mr. Whorton entered into rest on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Harold Whorton was born January 1, 1940 in Kirbyville, MO to Lige and Albertie (Pleake) Whorton. He attended Kirbyville Elementary School and graduated from Branson High School. Harold was a lifelong Taney County resident.
He married the love of his life Carol Jean “Jeanie” Parton on June 17, 1961. They had celebrated fifty-seven years together before her passing in 2018.
Harold began his working career at Branson Laundry which was located downtown. From there, he had a long career driving and delivering bread for Holsom Bread Co., and retired from the Butternut Bread Co.
He enjoyed turkey, pheasant, and deer hunting and going fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother Kenneth Whorton.
Harold is survived by his two sons Doug Whorton (Lori) of Hollister; Mark Whorton (Jessica) of Nixa; his sister Betty Rosencrans of Hollister; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, October 18, 2021 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory from 6-7:30 PM.
