Janice Hale

Janice Hale, 82, of Branson, Missouri.

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Janice Hale, entered into rest on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the age of 82 in Branson, Missouri.

Janice was born on February 6, 1942 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of George Paul Steury and Virginia (Specht) Steury.  She spent her young life growing up in Springfield, where she attended Portland Elementary School, Jarrett Junior High School, and graduated from Parkview High School, where she was a member of the Parkview Lassies Drum and Bugle Corp. She also studied at Southwest Missouri State University, now MSU.

Janice married Edward Hale on October 8, 1961 in Springfield, MO and they were blessed with their two children, Sheri and Jon.  Along with caring for her family, Janice worked outside the home as an interior designer, wedding planner, and a bookkeeper for the family business, Hale's Meats and More.  She was a faithful follower of Christ and member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Springfield.

Janice moved back to Branson almost three years ago from Nixa and was a resident at The Bungalows at Branson Meadows. Janice had enjoyed antique collecting and dealing for more than 50 years and was a member of the Springfield Antique Collector's Club.  She was a member of P.E.O. and also loved organizing and planning her Parkview High School, Class of 1960, reunions.  Janice was also very talented and creative and enjoyed floral arranging and craft making.  She was outgoing and adventurous and loved to travel on bus trips across the United States.

Janice’s presence and love will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sheri Zay & husband Tim of Reeds Spring, MO; son, Jon Hale & wife Charlotte of Branson; her brother, Jack Steury & wife Janet of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Hayley Hayes (Dylan), Taylor Zay, Chloe Barnes (Tyler) and J.T. Hale (Josephine); along with her three great-grandchildren, Kinsley Hayes, Kohen Hayes and Wilder Barnes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia and husband, Edward.

Cremation services are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
