Jerry Lee Gusta, age 59, of Monett.

Jerry Lee Gusta, age 59, passed away at his home in Monett, Mo., on June 6, 2024.

He was born to Realto and Ruth Gusta of Davenport, Iowa on July 27, 1964. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Keppy.

After graduating from Assumption High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps and became a machine specialist and weapons expert. Jerry embarked in many careers following the military from bouncer to teamster before discovering his true passion, concrete. Fifteen years into Jerry's concrete career he was severely injured but refused to let his injury stop him. He returned to school earning a Master of Science and Education at Missouri State University. While he enjoyed his time teaching at Southwest school, he missed concrete, so he applied for and obtained the position as Springdale city concrete superintendent. The remainder of his working days were spent in that position. Jerry was the youngest of eight children produced from Realto and Ruth's marriage. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband and father. After marrying Tammy Gusta on November 2, 1986, the two of them built a legacy.

Jerry leaves behind his wife Tammy Gusta of Monett, Mo.; daughter Heather Gusta of Monett, Mo.; daughter Tiffany Gusta of Springfield, Mo; son Tyler Gusta of Monett, Mo.; daughter Mercedes Gusta of Monett, Mo.; and two grandchildren Julian Daniels of Cassville Mo., and Jeanelle Daniels of Cassville, Mo.

Surviving siblings include John his wife Marie Gusta Bellevue, Neb.; Betty Gusta and her partner Karen Brezia, Davenport, Iowa; Cindy and her husband B.A. Ahrens, Mountain Home Ark.; Mike Gusta, Colorado Springs Col.; Mary and Jim Crowley, West Branch Iowa, and twin sister Terry and her husband Frank, Eldridge, Iowa.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. It broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best. They say that memories are golden, well maybe that is true. But we never wanted memories, we only wanted you. Your life was love and labor, your love for your family true. You did your best for all of us, and we will always remember you.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
