Jina Elaine Brown, age 58, of Cassville, Missouri lost a hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 12, 1964 in Monett, Missouri the daughter of Jack and Janice (Lyall) Varner. On September 24, 1983 in Washburn, Missouri she was united in marriage to Felix Joe “Jody” Brown, who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Jack and Janice Varner of Washburn, Missouri; one son, Adam Joe Brown and his wife Ashley of Baltimore, Maryland and one daughter, Jacqueline Elizabeth Brown of Springfield, Missouri.
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Eunice Lyall and her uncle, Bob Lyall.
Jina lived her entire life in Barry County. Growing up in Washburn, Missouri she attended school at Southwest High School graduating in 1982 and later attending Crowder College attaining an associate’s degree. At a young age she became a Christian while attending the First Baptist Church of Washburn. Jina and Jody had been married for thirty-nine years and had two children. All she ever wanted was to be a mom and Adam and Jacqueline always knew they had a mom who put them first and was always there for them. She always strived to be a good daughter, wife and mom. She was employed by George’s Incorporated in the Human Resources Department which she loved and she loved her work family. Christmas was a very important holiday to Jina, in 2021 she had eighteen Christmas trees decorated in the house along with all of the other decorations. Traveling, going to thrift stores with Jacqueline and her mom, concerts and sunsets at the beach were a few of her favorite things. She was of the Baptist faith.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
